The Trump administration is considering a significant financial aid package for farmers, according to multiple sources familiar with the discussions. The package could include more than $10 billion in relief.

The White House is focusing on soybean farmers, since they’ve been hard hit by the Chinese boycott on American soybeans. Discussions about the package are still in early stages, one of the sources said.

The actual solution to all the problems caused by right wingers seems to always be socialism.

    From the book Catch 22:

His specialty was alfalfa, and he made a good thing out of not growing any. The government paid him well for every bushel of alfalfa he did not grow. The more alfalfa he did not grow, the more money the government gave him, and he spent every penny he didn’t earn on new land to increase the amount of alfalfa he did not produce. Major Major’s father worked without rest at not growing alfalfa. On long winter evenings he remained indoors and did not mend harness, and he sprang out of bed at the crack of noon every day just to make certain that the chores would not be done. He invested in land wisely and soon was not growing more alfalfa than any other man in the county. Neighbours sought him out for advice on all subjects, for he had made much money and was therefore wise. “As ye sow, so shall ye reap,” he counselled one and all, and everyone said “Amen.

Can’t wait for one of my coworkers to speak positively of this move so I can ask them why they’re praising SOCIALISM

I mean, I think the world would be a better place if capitalism died and socialism were recognized as being far superior, but I can say with 100% certainty that THEY do NOT.

That is the irony. They can push for Americans to eat more soy products, but people can’t come close to consuming as much soy as the livestock we feed it to. And with beef prices continuing to skyrocket, people can’t afford to eat beef either. We should have been cutting subsidies for corn and soy and using that money to invest in farmers growing actual food for actual people. But that’s harder to profit from so big daddy corporate ag made sure the gravy train kept rolling.

The implementation of this will be delayed long enough for most of them to have to sell their land to Big Ag, THEN they’ll distribute the money based on who owns those soybean farms (now).

How much of that would actually go to small farmers and not just get eaten by giant corporations? I’d be willing to bet basically all of it and the only reason Trump is doing this is because those mega farm corps are lining his pocket for it.

can’t be having the red-state farmers turning on them because of (the expected by everyone with more than three brain cells) policy failures.

they’re just looking to buy continuing ‘support’ and mid-term votes.

Since when in this administration did a discussion being in the early stages stop an announcement?
