If you bought a property 50 years ago for $20,000 just outside of town, and are now selling it for $4 million dollars so that a condo building can be put up, then that money has to come from somewhere and other than being there first, you didn’t do a damn thing to earn that increase in value.
Land values account for almost half of the price of a fucking condo, which should have almost zero land cost associated with it because of how many units you can build on a small footprint.
