Tanzania has officially blocked access to the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), citing cybersecurity threats and the spread of false information.

The move follows a series of cyberattacks targeting government accounts, which led to the dissemination of fake and explicit content. As a result, only government officials, including President Samia Suluhu Hassan, currently have access to the platform.
