    Why does Africa need to import gran at all? Are there no grain farms there? Its a whole fucking continent.

      Many decades of imperialist extraction by the west is the answer. Institutions like IMF forced countries to plant crops for export instead of ones that could feed their people in order to get loans, western powers assassinated politicians who tried to make their countries self sufficient, US ran coups, death squads, and CIA ops to destabilize things, and so on.

      Hopefully Africa can finally shake off the shackles of the western empire now.
