Based on the trailer alone… this looks like Doom VR but with a Starfleet skin.
Couldn’t they have modeled it after No Man Sky or something where you actually need to explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations?
That’s been a pretty common commentary, and I get it, but I think there’s room for just about all genres - they’ve done their fair share of horror-tinged episodes over the years.
I’m not sure 10 year old graphics will make a good atmosphere. Yikes.
I enjoy good graphics, but I can look past them if the gameplay is fun and the story is good. With that said, I’m not clear if this will have any of the good qualities.
I do feel this game looks very conceptually interesting. I do very much enjoy VR games and really do feel like there aren’t enough really pushing the medium. So I am cautiously optimistic.
