I have always heard people wonder how Nazi German happened when the majority did not support it.
Now, having lived through something similar, I’m still wondering.

I think it is because evil is unethical by it’s very nature, while good tends to be timid, polite and law abiding, right up till it is arrested and put in a concentration camp.
