🤦🏻‍♀️ What about the people who don’t use social media? Or have used social media for less than 5 years?

Or people who disclose a suspiciously wholesome 5 years of social media use? Or use social media platforms that allow backdated posts - how well are those going to be scrutinised?

Why am I even asking? This is all so stupid. People only want to travel to places where they won’t be immediately grilled on what they think of the dictator. (…Out of curiosity, what’s the process like for North Korea? Strictly for comparison.)

I’m pretty sure the only posts I’ve put on Facebook in the past five years are all a version of, “Hey, I’m just checking in so y’all know I’m still alive.” I haven’t updated my personal information on there in about a decade.

None of you better come here. I’m not saying this because I don’t want you here, I’m saying it because we are literally on fire right now. We have a lot of finding out to do.

Check under your couch for Russians. Or Venezuelans. Or is it Chinese? Whatever it is, it’s certainly not a home-made problem.

Between China and the US I’d currently be less worried about visiting China. And I’m a white dude who has bashed the CCP online plenty.

china cares more about money, they do suppress news about thier country often to not scare away tourists.

I mean it genuinely is, seems like others are still in denial and not getting the message.

European: Haha, yeah I hate foreigners too! Now, onto our vacation in the Florida Keys-

Trump: No, you. I meant you. Get out.

He’s getting his buddies those covid-era interest rates, one way or another. Our sacrifices are ones he’s willing to make.

Pages 732 and 736 of project 2025 (50% complete already btw) outline the “suffolk banking system” that they’re forcing.

Combine SCOTUS ruling on the 14th amendment in summer of 26 and you can start to see the narrative of canceled midterms. Dude jerks off to the thought of surpressing riots

The US are really working hard to get prohibition, 30’s great depression, and McCarthyism all at once.

Lol - looks like my old man is never getting to the US. He posts at least 1 meme a day on Facebook that comedically shits on Trump. It’s become something of an obsession.

Meanwhile, my brother-in-law is hoping to get to Boston with my nephew to watch Scotland play at the world cup. He’s been frantically un-liking dad’s posts and deleting his own for days.

Yet another reason to avoid the US as a tourist. Looks like hotels and airlines did not bribe Trump sufficiently.

Not yet rotten by algorithmic rot, I think as well. I see quite lovely comment sections and doesn’t feel infested with bots.

Could be wrong though, if anyone has any insight please provide!

Tbh the fundamentally fragmented, federated model the fediverse uses as a core design element does seem like it’d be far harder to centralize and comprehensively corrupt.

Definitely agreed with that, which is why I like it so far but am just worried or hold back. Hope there is going to be more activity on the whole system.

I see it as a win-win. I only have to open the app for a bit while on the loo. I don’t give a damn about hemorrhoids, this is my shitposting time!

Pre-sleep bedtime screentime is now reserved for Balatro (likely equally terrible to social media feed) or light reading (probably miles above those, but pales in comparison to paperback).

“In addition to social media histories, Customs and Border Protection would add other new data collection fields, including email addresses and telephone numbers used in the last five years, as well as the addresses and names of family members, the notice reads.”

Wtf I was planning to visit NYC but this is crazy man.
