How about “I do it while turning, so I don’t have to move my hands”? I mean, it is pretty nice of them to warn us about what they’ve already done. /s
I was teaching my niece how to drive recently. The one thing I emphasized is that you want to be predictable so other drivers know what to expect.
That means not going too fast or too slow, turning into the correct lane, using signals before changing lanes, etc.
I think she understood, so hopefully that helps. Changing the world one at a time. 8 billion more to go. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
I just recently watched a QI clip where they said they used to have a long list of questions to determine if someone was a narcissist, but they realized that they got the same accuracy from a single question, “Are you a narcissist?”
I assume this is like one of those “one lies, the other tells the truth” things and a narcissist would answer “no”. If I saw the QI episode, I’ve long since forgotten what was said about it.
FWIW, my response would be “oh god I hope not”, all the while fretting that I’ve been writing a lot of comments from the first person with lots of "I"s these days, which is a bit self-centred. I don’t have the brain power to rewrite. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(Another, slightly more cruel one is to find a perfectionist who thinks that perfectionism is an imperfection and ask them if they’re a perfectionist. A therapist accidentally short-circuited my brain with that one.)
I think the question is not 100% accurate. It’s just about as accurate as the previous list of questions was.
And IIRC, the explanation was that a narcissist would sort of be proud of their narcissism.
It was quite interesting ™ because she asked them the question before giving the explanation, and the ones who answered said, “Yes.” And then they tried to explain how most comedians had narcissistic motivations to get in front of a crowd of people, etc.
It almost seemed like a demonstration of the point Sandi was about to make.
Not actually as conclusive as the black/white in the original image, but I find the best spot in traffic to judge people is a roundabout.
A normal lane change can be dangerous to the driver if they don’t use the turn signal. When exiting a roundabout however the only reason to use your signal is to notify other drivers, with no benefit for yourself. So if someone does not signal there (and that is quite common) it’s a pretty good indicator about what kind of person they are. (self-centered or half-asleep)
Somehow everyone in Florida be like
Meanwhile I feel like a trained monkey as I signal in my buildings parking garage with no neighbors around. I still do it, it should be a reflex, but there’s only a few tenents and it’s especially silly since we live at the far end of the complex.
But I did get called out on it, lol.
The whole point of signals is because you don’t know when you haven’t noticed that someone is around. People who only use signals when someone can see them are doing it wrong as much as those who never use it. Cars have blind angles and you can’t be aware of everything going on around you all the time. That’s why you signal, so everyone has clear indication of your intents. You also reminded me of an uncle who used who always forgot to signal before a maneuver and when he realized mid-turn he would then use the signal. Like, it is of no use anymore.
And turning them on as you’re already halfway in the next lane doesn’t count and in fact just makes the person you just cut off want to vaporize your head even more
the authorities do not give a F*k about psychopaths
I use mine most of the time, but I couldn’t care less if anyone else does. Half you fuckers leave them on all the time anyway so it’s not like you can trust what the signal is saying. I’ve also had more time than I can count when some jack ass will turn on the left run signal move to the left hand lane, then promplty make a right turn at full speed. So basically who cares if you use the turn signal if you don’t use them correctly anyway.
