They’re larping, but I think it’s a game they’ve been primed to play. It’s all subjective and probably brainworms, but i think referring to the terminids and bots as commies (and sometimes fascists) crept in to the game by itself after launch. It’s one of those things where some people are joking, some people definitely are not. Some people “get the satire” others are on board with the satirical representation of their beloved nato because it makes them look cool.
And that is exactly why I’ve avoided that game like the plague. Even “ironic” fascism makes me uncomfortable knowing how many gamers are already 9/10 of the way to
