“I’ll praise someone who took unpopular decisions in his platform, that plenty people hate the guts of, while implementing unpopular decisions in my own platform. What could go wrong?”

This is the sort of thing that makes me say that stupidity is worse than malice…

Fuck sake. I fucking knew it when the API bullshit was announced. Then comes the lying about the blackmail, then the tyrannical move about getting mods to turn against each other… all Musky moves. Probably fancy himself as Brian Cox in Succession too. Probably not going to pay any rent next and change the name to Redtit or something.

Ok I was just listening to this podcast about Musk getting sued over the twitter cuts and now I can’t stop laughing at the absurdity of this article.

Is spez just excited to stop paying landlords and custodial staff?

I was called crazy for my belief that Reddit was being transitioned to Twitter model. That the admins of Reddit were not being punitive towards the users who spewed hate speech, but rather those who were standing against it.

This just lends credence to my beliefs.

Huffman said he saw Musk’s handling of Twitter, which he purchased last year, as an example for Reddit to follow.

Yikes. Guess we’d better work on getting Lemmy/Kbin as ready as we can. This isn’t going to end well.

Now things click into place. Friends with Musk, probably didn‘t enjoy reading negative things about him on Reddit so much so he‘s imitating him to get all left-leaning or in general free thinking people off his platform, only permitting these standardised liberal right of center views. These two guys straight up want their own little propaganda echo chamber that some groups don‘t fit into and this is how to get rid of them.

I hope so much the fediverse takes off, they don‘t deserve to be rewarded for this behaviour. There needs to be a degrowth of these platforms to a point in time where we don‘t even talk about it. Unless referencing it‘s death, who talks about Digg? That is what I want for Reddit, Twitter and those that destroyed them.
