- After reading why they are doing it. I agree with them - I mean, they sound like inherit operating costs and requirements to me and I don’t think an email anyone can randomly generate is that big of a privacy risk. - That being said the multiple Emails I get do nothing but clutter up my inbox, I consider the most important part of generating a certificate to be automating it. 
 
- Man, that’s too bad, it was really handy as the last defense against outages and didn’t have any additional setup costs. - Agreed. I haven’t gotten one of those mails in years, but it would be nice to get one if my cronjob was silently failing every day for a month.
