If you don’t get it, davel (a lemmy.ml admin) is referencing Star Trek in which pre-warp civilizations are seen as “not ready” for joining the interstellar community and therefore no one should have contact with them.

Considering davels history, they’re most likely saying other Lemmy instances just aren’t ‘enlightened’ enough (Read: haven’t bought into Russia/CCP propaganda)

    It is fascinating to me how persistent Lemmy.ml and friends are about framing the instances they find problematic as being some kind of unusual outliers, instead of it being literally every single one outside of the Hexbear / .ml / Lemmygrad triad.
