PewDiePie made a video on why he installed Linux and explained why everyone should do it too. Due to his number of followers, this might be the year of the Linux Desktop? Hooray?
I doubt it will be a meaningful change.
And I don’t know how much I want to share a community with Pewds community. He had been pushing fascist ideas for a while. I have no clue honestly if he’s gotten better, but those are my misgivings.
What fascist ideas?
When I stopped watching in 2018/2019 he had his collection of edgy scandals, but I mostly worry about his book club that featured Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson amongst the authors he’s recommended.
I have no idea if he’s stopped/apologized/started being at least progressive. But that’s why I wrote him off years ago
Linux desktop will never happen for the mass market. Linux is not an option for many people. You are pushing ideology and it shows your lack of job experience. You’ve never made a good size living in IT working in spport of random customers systems or working in an office environment for others to tell you every time someone wants you to come fix something.
Once you are fluent in setting up a BSD GUI desktop, not Linix, and you become skilled in remote sys admin work, then we can talk about why people should use Linux.
