Today, our not-for-profit (Framasoft) is proud to present v1 of the PeerTube mobile application, 4 months after its first release! It’s the work of a single developer, Wicklow, thanks in no small part to your feedback (and support). Let’s have a look at what’s new!
Quick sum up :
- Log on your PeerTube account
- Comment from your pocket
- Manage channel subscriptions
- Playlist management
- full changelog
Coming soon (depending on your support and enthusiasm) :
- Play a video in the background
- Next video recommendations
- Improve the current situation of limiting the list of platforms in the application
- Improve notifications
- Broadcast to TVs
- …should we go as far as being able to upload videos and manage PeerTube channels from the app? Do you think it’s worth it…?
Later (thanks to renewed support from NGI0) :
- Adaptation to tablets
- Adaptation to TVs (Google TV… AppleTV will depend on their limitations)
- Offline viewing (for downloadable content)
Seems like it’s v1.0.1 on the Google Play Store, but on F-Droid it’s still at v0.6?
I don’t know very well. But i read that Fdroid have stricter requirement and a lenghty process to validate your app. There is also something with google service dependencies but i may be wrong and say bullshit.
Anyway, you can bypass Google Playstore with Obtainium (Fdroid) and link it to git repo of the Peertube app.
Very nice! ❤️
Very cool ! Thank to Wicklow and Framasoft :)
It’s a massive upgrade!
