Will this go on Fdroid too?
Same question here!
Oh wow. Really, really loving this. If I had an easy way to port my magazines/block list I’d switch to artemis.camp immediately just to use this daily. Fantastic work!
As soon as the API is out, all KBin instances will be available.
Are you using some sort of internal API right now?
The API is nearly finished but hasn’t been implemented in most instances. Hariette implemented it in the artemis.camp instance to test for use with this app. When it’s implement in other instances they will become open to use
Hi cloaker! What an awesome post.
Looking forward to test/try the app when the API is ready!
People on the app currently are using the artemis.camp kbin instance, presumably just because they want to help test and use the app now. That’s what I’ll be doing.
I actually sat down and did this manually for myself. It was worth it.
I did the exact same thing.
Omg. Built in outrun theme right off the bat?
I’m in loveIt’s actually really great, both the theme and the responsiveness of the app. Will be sending monies hariettes way the minute the API is implemented.
As a former RIF user, I adore this app already. Supremely well done! I will be sending coffee to @hariette
Was already enjoying the private beta but it stopped updating after v0.1.7. The new 0.2.0 public beta is incredible! But is there anyway we could get it on FDroid? Best to avoid the Play Store when at all possible (even with Aurora Store)
Yes I love it. Once it rolls out of beta and adds Lemmy support I’ll be throwing $$ at them in w/e way they’ll take it.
If you’re a Lemmy person; I’d be trying !syncforlemmy personally. Was my favourite prior to it being shut down.
Just downloaded, nice! No way to log in on kbin?
The API hasn’t been enabled on kbin.social yet. Until that update gets ‘pulled’ the app can’t work with kbin.social. Harielle has enabled the API early on her own kbin instance so the app can be used and tested.
Ooh makes sense, thanks!
Love it already, I really missed apollo when i made the switch to android, and now that kbin and this are a thing I will have a lot less time on my hands, I just made a temp account on artemis.camp while we wait for kbin.social to update, then i will truly be unstoppable
Lol the Apollo theme is my go-to. It’s not exactly the same, but it’s close! RIP Apollo.
Signed up an account on camp, loving the app.
Same - although I feel like there might be some growing pains with artemis.camp. Federation seems to be slow? Idk, I don’t really know how a-lot of this stuff works.
But I love the “CAMP” next to all the usernames for anyone in the artemis.camp instance!
When the API comes out all instances will be available. We’ve just got to wait.
I think this is what I’m seeing too. Some of the magazines I followed on social I couldn’t find here so they hadn’t federated yet but I’m sure that will all resolve soon.
Agreed. I am finding there are more magazines federating every day.
I have also noticed that pinned posts from mods are not always translating over from kbin.social to artemis.camp - if they end up federating, they are not always automatically at the top.
I think things will start to really come together once the full API is released and the full Artemis app is released on iOS and Android. If artemis.camp remains one of the default instances for the app, it could easily become one of the larger instances.
Super excited about this! But is there anyway we could also get it on FDroid? The artemis.camp instance doesn’t seem to work on the originally released private beta version, which is still on v0.1.7@cloaker@kbin.social
Fdroid requires apps to be open source right? I believe Hariette has said they’re open to that but there’s still some work to do to clean it up etc. Also if you’re on the discord server then there are links to 0.2.0 versions of the apk.
Do I recall that an iOS version is coming? Or am I confused?
Doffs hat
Thanks!
love it
This is awesome!!!

The API for kbin is currently under code review. When the review is finished other instances will update and become available.
Not yet - the API is still being reviewed for integration into the main kbin codebase. artemis.camp is using the prerelease code to test the app. If another kbin instance decides to use the prerelease code I believe it might be able to be used on that instance as well, but I’m not 100% on if that’s been implemented by Artemis
Looks amazing! Well done! Look forward to seeing how it moves forward!
