What weather app do you use?
And what weather provider (many apps support several) looks most accurate for you, especially for users from Europe.
I use the Weather Forecast app from F-Droid, which uses yr.no data.
Not because that’s always the best, but because that data maybe literally saved my life once.(I was hiking in the Alps with friends and yr.no showed a snow storm coming right where we were headed that day. Everyone else including a local guide said it’s OK since their weather report didn’t show it, and they went on to climb over the next ridge. Me and my friends were the only ones who descended into the valley instead. Later that day, we noticed a helicopter rescue was started on that ridge and the next day we read that one of the hikers had died that day)
Wow, what a story! I was hiking in Alps just few weeks ago, and weather forecasting was a disaster. Many providers show different info, local were not that great either. One day I have a luck - strong rain started early enough for me to be able to return in a safe (but uncomfortable) way.
Weawow…has multiple weather providers including Apple Dark Sky
Apple darksky has all the info I need (hours for few days, UV index etc), but too often provides inaccurate forecast for me ☹️
It gives you 9 or 10 different providers I believe.
Yes. And which one works the best for you?
Apple Dark Sky works well for me. Though I also use Open Weather Map, AerisWeather, and Foreca.
These are the most accurate for me.
Today Weather, the widget is super customizable which I like
Thanks. Looks great!
I use Breezy Weather (on fdroid: https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/index/apk/org.breezyweather)
Thanks!
I really like “MyRadar” despite it being focused on radar it has all the usual features as well.
I use FlowX (formerly Weather bomb).
Might not be the prettiest of apps but sure gives up lots of data from different sources, and someone else said I like the radar aspect of it.
Thank you. What is a deal with radar?. I’m asking because I do not use this view, and probably missing something useful.
It’s simply being able to swipe up/down/left/right on the radar to scan the different factors of weather coming it, especially when I’m going to work.
I work outside all day long but also travel to work on an escooter too so knowing if it’s gonna be windy/pissing it down or, sunny (UK here, this is rare) factors in how I arrive by foot/scoot and what I need to wear that day.
I like windy.com but they started premium blocking content recently. Still good though, if you want to see the current weather such as radar and windspeed.
Do you use all of them? Of so, then which one do you trust?
