I’m subbed to the periscope films YT channel. I’m fascinated with the channel. There’s a wealth of seriously interesting stuff on there. Educational films about how limited slip differentials work, how copper is mined, how asphalt roads work, and even stuff like this short film about the wonder mineral asbestos.

I am absolutely floored by how many things used to have asbestos in them. I mean I knew, but good grief to have even a non exhaustive list of all the things we used to put that shit in is mind bottling.

It’s no goddamned wonder people lied about it as long as they did, the profits made off the things that were killing people one breath at a time must have been astronomical. Between the asbestos and the tetraethyl lead, it’s amazing the boomers made it as far as they did.
