Very cool. If you’re especially interested in your cholesterol, plant-based diets are “associated with decreased total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL)”. Not a small cross-over study financed by the “Egg Nutrition Center” but a systematic review and meta-analysis from dozens of studies – along with the obvious fact that reducing saturated fat intake like a plant-based diet almost inherently does would positively impact these levels.
Such diets have no effect on physical performance except that they may moderately benefit aerobic performance.
OK so, for a while now we’ve know that for most people dietary cholesterol does not necessarily result in raised levels of Low Density Lipids (LDL) This is true of other whole foods high in cholesterol or fat as well as eggs.
It is true that a very small part of the population will be what are called LDL hyper-responders and dietary cholesterol will influence LDL in the bloodstream. There’s more information here: https://www.dietdoctor.com/cholesterol/hyper-responders

Please look at my comment below. This is a small cross-over study across five weeks funded by the egg industry, and this article is a press release by the university who are incentivized to hype their research. It’s funny to lampshade confirmation bias and all, but I want to pull away that layer of irony and say that this “great, now I don’t have to change anything I think” attitude is concerning for health.
Sure my comment wasn’t particularly serious and it’s good to be sceptical. This finding isn’t all that surprising though given the other research on dietary cholesterol or at least that’s my understanding. Please correct me though. Still it sounds like you’re right that this one study isn’t particularly compelling by itself.
