Cool, didn’t know you could dual boot on a phone.
It seems like postmarketOS is not quite ready yet on the FP5? https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Fairphone_5_(fairphone-fp5)
Ubuntu Touch seems to support everything but I really can’t warm up to their UI.
Afaik this dual booting abuses the alternative system image that ensures that you can’t brick you phone during updates, and upgrading Android after setting this up will be a major PITA.
Ah, that makes sense. Probably doable since I already run LineageOS but with the missing features, there’s not much point yet unfortunately.
How’s 4G calling on FP5 running any flavour of Linux.
Edit:
Just checked, Volte doesn’t work, not much use then even as a second phone. Linux on phones is dead in water till VoLTE works, apps can wait. Not much sense if the main thing it is supposed to do for it to qualify as a phone, i.e. calling, doesn’t work.
