I would hate to live in a country where a minority of segregated voters in gerrymandered districts was hand-fed a bunch of corporate shills and fascist freaks through a comically corrupt primary system.
Imagine living in a country where the ostensibly democratic leadership had a sub 20% approval rating for the last 30 years running. And every new election cycle produced some of the most vulgar, hateful, ignorant, slimeballs imaginable. Then elevated them to high office for the purpose of expanding the police state and immiserating the public under the auspices of popular rule and fiscal conservatism.
Meet the new shitheads, same as the old shitheads
South Africa still hasn’t learned and its standard of living is terrible now. Corporate states are inhumane places.
The rich run our lives and control everything.
Only because we let them
How do we stop them?
Massively oversimplified. But there gets a point, if enough people rise up, that the stronghold on power loosens.
The bit that picture leave out is that first guy is almost certainly killed, as are a good few of those in the third panel. Thats what makes it difficult.
Yep, but some shit about being civilized and following their rules.
Ah yes, good old “but we need peaceful protest”.
Like the social democrats in Nazi germany condemning those who rebelled in the street because they caused damage.
Unlike those lovely communists who frequently actively worked with the nazis (until '35) in order to weaken the social democrats and whos leader explicitly said “after Hitler, our turn”. Much better eh comrade?
The KPD was shit. That doesn’t excuse what the SPD did. As always, just because two bad things happen doesn’t take away for the first thing being bad.
There were plenty of grassroots anarchist and communist riots (unaffiliated with the KPD) that did a lot of good.
