    So Desantis believes this massacre was political and therefore had to be removed from public property.

    I don’t see how Florida residents wouldn’t see Confederate statues on public property as clearly political and tear any that can be seen from a street down in the middle of the night.

    Clearly this federal opinion from the DOT over road state/local communities, so any states who have made protections for those statues are clearly void

    Normally I’m against the changing of safety markers: they’re high-contrast and very clear because they’re safety markers.

    However, I want to be as petty as Mr DeSantis, and I say for every rainbow crosswalk his people do, two can be painted in the dead of night. Use temporary paint so the next rainstorm - say 2027 - will wash it away, but get the publicity and walk away.
