I get why people say this, especially after all he’s gotten away with. I’ve seen other highly visible paedophile cases play out, and I think if that information came out, it would be a serious noose around his neck (or ankles — his poor ankles).
Don’t underestimate how he rallied on this. How he was going to drain the swamp, how the deep state was after him. This is a rare unifying issue in a world of divisive politics.
Fucking around with children is a serious line for a vast majority of people.
Also remember the files don’t have to be fully released, nor do they have to be released by him. All we need is one of his highly sycophantic new intelligence officers whistleblower to leak a crucial part of it to the press.
And even if it doesn’t matter to some people, I believe this, together with the 2024 election tampering investigations are the only two attack vectors we have left to get him out, as it is abundantly clear he will never leave, nor will the SC, Congress, the media or the Democrats ever hold him accountable.
That or his ankles will need to swell a lot more and faster.

The prestige of modern conservatism is to spin out people fleeing abuse as its cause and people practicing the abuse as its solution. You need a ton of money and manpower and an iron grip on the media in order to make the trick work. But when billionaires are in your corner, anything is possible.

This headline is rather misleading. Later in the article they give more context for what Georgia Rep. Mike Collins said. From the article:

I swear, if they try to spin him being in the files as him being a good guy in all of this I’m gonna have an aneurysm. On the plus side, he’d never actually go for it, as every time he gets asked about it, he just gets mad and says he stole her from me, which is obviously not something a whistleblower is gonna say.
