    The US “space race” plan.

1 - realize that in order to run a marathon (go to Mars), one must first run a mile (go to the Moon).

2 - adopt a plan that will have you running a mile at the same pace as the rest of the marathon. That might be less efficient for the mile, but saves time in the long run by combining plans.

3 - when you’ve gone 50 yards, just give up on the Marathon, train to run a mile at marathon pace.

4 - shocked Pikachu face when other runners go much faster than you.

Was there a first? The US lost the space race so created a “race” to the moon where it was the only competitor. Is it a race with one entrant?

Some of this is on the Bridenstine administration. HLS and suits should have been contracted years earlier.

The Nelson administration didn’t help. They dropped the ball on using China and Russia as leverage to get more funding and priority for Artemis (and commercial stations). And, unrelated, stood by and watched MSR wither and die.

You can click on his name to see other articles and see that he doesn’t write about other stuff

Also, SLS is just so easy to bash that I can’t blame him for some healthy bashing here and there.

Im aware of his style. Hes been bashing for over a decade. He has created a sentiment among his readers to hate on the SLS program. You won’t see as much bashing outside of his ArsTechnica articles

The point of the space race is to find life outside of earth. Evangelicals hate this because they believe God made the earth and man-there is no talk of aliens in the bible. They feel the space program is an attack on their beliefs and now they have the power to do something about it. If you love space or astronomy say go bye to them now.
