Well, I’m of the opinion that Brompton (and every other company) should pull out of US distribution until their government stops being fascist pigs.
But I digress…
The ticket price of US$4,950…
Wildly expensive, even if it’s a Brompton.
a 7-year frame warranty and 3-year e-system warranty
Kudos where kudos are due. Glad to see a bike company offer more than a year warranty on their e-bikes!
With their prices, they damn well better have a good warranty.
Wildly expensive, even if it’s a Brompton.
Now do cars and insurance, parking, gas…
oh, for sure, compared to cars it’s almost a no-brainer. But compared to other bikes it really is one of the more expensive offerings
It’s so expensive but it has all the features I want
If you’re wanting a similar style and most of the capability though probably somewhat lower quality components due to the affordable price, I bought the similarly-styled Ride1UP Portola and have been loving it. It’s even been mistaken for a Brompton before and has gotten a lot of compliments. And it’s a fraction of the price. I wish it had a torque instead of cadence sensor to trigger the electric assist but it has plenty of power and range for me. Check out the ‘warm gray’ colorway for the classic Brompton style.
Thats a great find. Ive got a fixed frame Letric bike that i like, but its too bulky for the train. I was thinking of converting it into a bakfiets with this kit and running down a more compact ebike. The linked one fits my niche really well. I really appreciate that it’s a class 3. Class 2s cant deal with city traffic well.
Does it roll easily when folded?
Five grand for a 16 kilo bike. Come on.
