I’d absolutely encourage you to continue reading the Bobiverse series. It’s when I first realized my love for sci-fi in book form. The next few books, IMO, REALLY improve upon the stories introduced in the first book and then add a whole bunch of new ones. No major spoilers, but it manages to interrogate some age-old SciFi tropes like the prime directive, agency for clones, governance in space, blah blah blah. It does all of this in an extraordinarily personal way where you see these problems get engineered around (like how Project Hail Mary by Weir is largely just a book about a dude solving problems) by a ton of really interesting computer dudes with endless time on their hands.

It was enabled and for some reason grayed out so I couldn’t disable it. Looked up several solutions and nothing worked so I just updated my bios. That ended up working.

I clicked on the KDE version because it said that would be closer to a classic “desktop” environment, and yes the Nvidia version

I followed every instruction on that page once it happened and still nothing. Even after a full reinstall. I’m worried it might be some bigger, harder-to-fix problem like something with my sound card. See my edit for a better update

I’m on an MSI Thin GF63. I don’t hear MSI laptops get mentioned often when it comes to Linux compatibility so I have no idea if this means I’m simply fucked or if all of my problems will purely be software issues. I’m installing Bazzite right now because I’ve heard it mentioned several times here.

I’ll give this a shot right now and update the post if the issue persists across operating systems.

I second this. I was this neurodivergent kid. Finding a therapist who can approach neurodivergence appropriately may mean that the solution isnt instant, but therapy is incredibly worth it for neurodivergent children.
