You’re not throwing money out the window though, you’re giving it directly to someone. Someone who has used their craft to create something that has value to you. I’m not necessarily criticising you for not donating, I just want to shift your perspective that your money wouldn’t be valued by other people.

I’ll un-brainfart you. If the price of the cheeses per volume is the same, and both three and four cheeses fill the same container, the price would remain the same 🙂

It’s not normal to become alienated from your SO because of a meme. The healthy thing for him to do is to open up to his SO about these feelings. This is the same thing as being mad at someone because they were mean in a dream. Bring it up in a conversation, laugh at the silliness of it, and move on.

It even got the ring 😄
My local area didn’t have any houses mapped, so I started out with the iD editor. It’s extremely easy to get started with. It even has an interactive tutorial to get you going. After that I moved on to JOSM to edit more efficiently.
The OSM wiki has a lot of good resourced about all kinds of topics. Something I would suggest you look up is how you’re region/country likes to format address data.
And finally whenever you commit a set of changes there’s a check box you can tick to ask for someone to double check your changes.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you had to replace the floppy disk save symbol in software with a new symbol for saving what would you choose and why?
71·25 days agoI wonder if we would would really “expect” a new safe icon. Most modern software has auto-saving. Games for example often just use a spinning circle to indicate it’s saving. Word and google docs just say “don’t worry, we’re continuously saving your work” when you hit Ctrl + S.
I imagine if you want to save something locally you have the downward arrow for downloading, or some other icon for moving and copying files.
Very well said. It’s very much the same vibes as the bear in the woods. If you feel offended by a bear winning out, maybe you should ask yourself why that hurts, and understand why women would make that choice.

12·28 days agoI didn’t think much of what the “correct” location would be. But i have a general kinda everything share at /var/share/[music,books,video,user folders, repo]. And then any caching or config data sits in that dockers home folder under /etc/docker/[jellyfin,immich,kavita,etc] together with its docker-compose file. All docker services run under the group user so they all have access to the share.

I don’t know if the page looks the same to others, but the bird that’s pictured under that fact is not a great auk, they really do look like penguins.
I’m a tab collector myself (only around 200 or so), but having multiple windows is just insane. I’m sorry, but that is a hard line I won’t cross. I might open a second window for either private browsing or to keep a video open while browsing in the main window.

That’s a fair take. I can relate to the feeling of uncertainty. When I make small donations of a couple of euros I have to push away my feelings that the donation could be seen as insultingly low. It’s hard to judge what a “fair” price is. But after all, many donation buttons say “Buy me a coffee” so I would hope the amount is appreciated either way.
