Yes it would be stupid to fire staff for a robot dog. Like you said there would be even more staff needed to maintain those dogs.

But it is case sensitive. Like you said, someone gets a call to go check out a questionable valve. Maybe that call was made by the robot who patrols a long corridor with 70 valves day and night, snapping pictures of the valves and sending them to the control center or something like that. And then again, who goes through those pictures to determine a questionable valve? AI? And if the valve needs constant surveiling, a robot dog and AI is not the tool for the job, its a wrong valve at that point.

But if a plant has a gabillion dollar and non critical infrastructure, why not let john maintenanceman drive a robot dog?

But yes they are expensive toys at the end of the day. I would hire a human every time if the labour was suitable for a human.

I may be ignorant, but from my experience Boston Dynamics is cool and if they were able to sell these things to the AI guys good for them!

I know these robots are used to do maintenance vhecks on big factories, where a dude can tell it to walk to a valve to look at it through a camera, and i think thats fine.

Instead of having 50 cameras you have one walking one.

I would be hooked to EVE if it was half its current price, heck I would probably run two accounts.

For me its just mad that WOW sub is 12 and eve sub is 20. One is the most played MMO ever and the other is a niche space mmo.

One has active users in the multiple millions range and other in tens of thousands.

I only have 600 hous in EVE.

I was watching a coffeezilla video on the new leaks yesterday, and I saw he could highlight and copy text in the pdf document.

I have had broken PDFs that lose the ability to select and search for text for much less modifications, and was wondering if there was a way to see behind the redaction.

I figured it would be a task for someone to look at the text in code and see the redacted parts, but turns out everyone can do it lol.

The meta in any given game is “the most effective tactic available” or just information acquired outside of the game to be efficient.

Like you could pick a class like warrior in some game and hours into playing realise that its the most difficult class to play, meanwhile the sorcerer is easy and good out the gate, so people would look up the best class/gear/shortcuts/exploits even before starting a game to be the most efficient, instead of just playing what they like.

Yeah I checked the discord and they plan on supporting it but it is as the devs put it “very low priority right now so will be a while before its added”.

This is definately one of those projects I hope will bring the community together and preserve and group up people playing these more niche game modes.

But im sure there will always be the HC players that say if a record is not surfed on KSF servers in source its not considered a record.

But im not a wr player anyway so im cool with that. And the good players seem to dominate the momentum leaderboards all the same so they are definately playing momentum as well.

I was a CS player first and a Quake player second. VQ3 movement never really hit me the same because of my CS background, but CPMA movement got me into defrag.

There is also a game called MomentumMod. Free on steam and it has all those quake and source engine movement minigames.

Rocket jump, bhop, defraq, surf and others. It has lobbies to play with other people and keeps leaderboards. Highly recommend checking it out when you next want to play any of these gamemodes.

Booting up the old defraq mod has its nostalgia tho, with the rabbit and all 😄
