News@lemmy.world•Virginia voters approve new congressional maps in blow to Trump
2·12 hours agoThere was gerrymandering on both sides, but definitely more in Red states. Kind of a stupid fight to start, because there was always more room to gerrymander on the blue side.

World News@lemmy.world•Canada's PM calls economic ties with US a weakness that must be correctedEnglish
6·3 days agoWe’re about to get hit with the biggest propaganda campaign in history.
Just sneak in the narrative that the US needs to build a wall to keep the Canadians out and we’ll build at least a small section (while grifting for the rest).

Nearly all of them aren’t doing anything that terrible. And for the few who do have targets, it’s hard to question if your targets are legitimate or illegitimate, particularly beyond a shadow of a doubt.

politics @lemmy.world•Hundreds of Fake Pro-Trump Avatars Emerge on Social Media
82·5 days agoOther than 4chan, the fediverse is the easiest social media to manipulate.
The admins here at least don’t cooperate, but they/we also don’t really do anything to stop it. We don’t have the tools to stop it that Reddit and others do.
When you get banned on Reddit, you typically need a new IP and new email in order to make a new account that doesn’t get instantly banned. Here you don’t have to go through all the trouble.
The bots here will grow, very soon.

61·12 days agoIt also seems like somewhat reasonable anti-malware practices, for the most part. They want a government ID if you’re going to push kernel level drivers. They have a process for doing so.
Could have been smoother, such as allowing them to recover their existing account.

I wouldn’t recommend it outside of that context. It’s nothing special.

I’m the same way fortune tellers are, but sometimes they pick up some uncertified psychiatry to assist.
