I’d take all the people who want car-centric infrastructure a lot more seriously if they put any effort into it.

The guy who had his phone on speaker but was also holding it like normal baffled me.

I suppose so? But there are things we can do right now that give us far more than a sliver of a chance. Unfortunately those things are “boring” and not as fashionable, like doing actual research and trusting real experts so it’s rough out there.

And not only that, but if you taxed them at 99% they’d still have silly amounts of money and ungodly financial security while even 20% off a poor person being paid by a less rich local business is just hurting the both of them. Taxes are a good thing but like you say they are horrendously unbalanced.

The last space race was a government funded effort, not personal projects meant to enrich and entertain rich people who view morality as a defect. These projects aren’t meant to advance science and research, and humanity’s well-being is the last thing they give a shit about.
You’re either not being serious or you aren’t smart enough to understand anything below headline-level detail.

Because those things were based on the real world and we are very bad at learning from the ever-growing list of mistakes we can’t stop making.
Cyberpunk 2077 is not a good world and does not have a good ending. That world is a horrid, capitalist dystopia. Maybe you should watch Edgerunners if you still can’t figure it out from the game.

You’re just outing yourself as a piece of garbage. I would pay my fucking employees, and if I somehow did it myself ethically it would be winning a lottery and I would share it amongst my friends and family.
I already do stuff like this. I own a sports car and I fight for pedestrianizing our streets, including the main one near where I live. I ride public transit and take the bike share service to get places. A guy once asked me to sign a petition to get rid of paid parking and I told him that I literally do not care and that it’s only fair that I personally pay to park my personal vehicle on publically funded infrastructure given how many people on that street don’t own cars and still have to pay for them.
You’re just an asshole who has already been visited by the sins of greed and pride and you’re just pissy that you don’t have the resources to act on those feelings. Be a better person, and quit this projecting bullshit; I don’t want any part of it.

Well that’s a gross over-simplification. It certainly wasn’t her and the DNC’s long history of clearly ignoring the needs of the people who want to vote for them while regularly reaching for “moderate” votes. It definitely wasn’t her disconnection from Walz while hanging out with Liz Cheney for a significant amount of time.
People don’t see her as any form of significant opposition to the far-right but they do see opposing the DNC as something worth doing and I’ve come around to supporting them there. It is not their fault that the Republicans won, anyoderately sane and intelligent people would have laughed him into oblivion but the US threw tens of millions of people at Trump.
Yes, but most people would put up with it instead because they’re afraid of the consequences. As much as they use “hackers” for scaring everyone these corporations likely don’t actually care since they know it’s only a handful of people. They know they just need to be stubborn enough for someone to forget after even only a couple months, or to create a boogie man to discourage them from fighting back.
It’s regulation or we’re fucked. Individuals do not have the necessary power to fight these large industries.
Or all the automatics in the states, or all the cars that only seem to come in black, white, or silver. Can also look at a lot of food, especially in food deserts, or public transit being gutted when ridership is low(because it was never funded in the first place).
People need to pay literally any kind of attention. I feel like this information, with studies to back it up that also aren’t by conservative think-tanks, is so readily available and yet also there are people who have zero clue about anything, like you’re saying.
This is capitalism, they will stop making the normal fridges and only make these fucking things. The only power customers truly have is through regulation(though we should still boycott things because it still helps).

I mean definitely mistakes happen, when we start saying that everything is on purpose that’s a big problem. However, one of my biggest irritations with people who fight against better infrastructure is how they all suck at driving. They’re terrible at it and refuse to get better but also demand that everything is built in their favour. That negligence absolutely does lead to preventable injuries and loss of life and far too many of these “accidents” are exactly as you say.
I’ll start paying attention to those idiots when they start putting in some vague amount of effort. At this point they can’t even turn left without cutting the oncoming lane.

“Impressed by his founding of PayPal and early backing of Facebook” brother those aren’t qualities.
“Yes he spoke at the GOP convention but have yoh considered these other ways that he’s an asshole elite?”

Ok, so he’s going to pardon all the non-violent drug offenses, then? When’s he going to let all those people go?
If the reason he pardoned that guy is a good one then he would want to apply that to everyone in the same circumstances, correct? If he refuses to then it would stand to reason that there is a different intent behind his action. Come now, be serious.

Sorry, I’m from Canada and habit kicked in. Oddy, we do use pounds for things like cars, which weigh over a ton, but never really say that a car weighs 1.5 tons or whatever.

There’s also, I think, the weird fucky option were 75% sorta works because the 25% applies to choosing 50% and 50% applies to choosing 25% which means that as long as you don’t choose 0% you’re good?
BUT ALSO, none of the question says it’s talking about itself. It could just mean in general, so we can choose 25% on purpose and then glare at whoever made A and D the same.

“It was only 220 tons of weed!”
This is the guy who’s in charge as the US obliterates random fishing boats while claiming they’re smuggling drugs. The point is dragging you into an alley and beating you to near death and you’re still completely missing it.

The CCP is guilty of some absolutely heinous things but high-level they do a lot of building and investing. It’s a lot of headline stuff but it’s better than what the US is doing. The US can’t even build public transit within most of its major cities and each state is constantly fighting with the other ones. The people in charge enrich themselves not quietly but as loud as possible.
China sucks, but they do have at least a small point.

Except when it was a stimulus check, which was bad and meant that poor people were just going to buy TVs or whatever other nonsense they were yelling about during covid.
“We have nothing to hide and it’s the democrats who are evil!!”
So it’s in your best interest to release the files, then, right? Your base wants it, many elected you on the promise of seeing these things released even, and it would be great evidence against your enemies.
“No, we are not going to release the files.”
Hmmmmmm
