I heard somewhere that the most smuggled drug in Germany is tobacco even though it is legal. I can imagine things in the UK being similar. That would mean that the black market is already well established for any kid wanting to smoke who doesn’t have an older person who can supply them.
Then again I think tobacco’s immediate effects are so small that it may not be as desirable as a drug so that they would rather drink alcohol or smoke weed to get a more perceptible buzz.

Damn, Paris has changed a lot. In my days you could talk in basically any language, living or dead, to a Parisian and they would understand every single word. And they’d still only answer in French.

My father is a sports pilot. As a child I flew very often with him. I puked almost all the time but I still loved hit. Every plane at his club is marked by my vomit.
Only one time I already felt sick when we arrived at the airfield. He still took me up in a sailplane. In order to stay up in a sailplane you have to constantly fly in circles above fields with warm air. Round and round and round. We were up for 4 hours. I didn’t puke once. By the time we were back down again I wasn’t sick anymore.
Mein durchsichtiger Game Boy liegt hier sogar noch in greifbarer Nähe. Ich hatte einen gelben Lupenaufsatz. Keine Ahnung was aus dem geworden ist.
Aber am meisten vermisse ich meine 128-in-1 Sammlung. Eine einzige Karte mit 128 Spielen drauf. Also, das war zumindest das Versprechen. Hatte ich im Spanien-Urlaub gekauft. In Wirklichkeit waren es 10-20 Spiele oder so und dann wiederholten die sich in der Liste mit komischen Namen.
Und die meisten Spiele waren Müll. Aber da war auch Wario Land, Spider-Man 2, Dr Mario und ich glaube auch Battletoads. Ich hatte auch Spaß mit einem Mahjong-Spiel. Ich war jedenfalls nicht enttäuscht, obwohl es viel weniger als beworben war.
Keine Ahnung was daraus geworden ist. Wir vermuten, dass mein Bruder die Karte einem Freund ausgeliehen und nie wiederbekommen hat.

The only book I loved reading for school was Das Versprechen by Dürrenmatt. At the time I didn’t go to school very often, so that might have helped. Schools have a tendency to kill all excitement one might have for a topic.
The book also has a pretty good movie with Jack Nicholson.
You’re already doing it. Even though your account is on lemmy.world you are posting to a community on lemmy.ml and I am answering from my own server on swg-empire.de.
Your server has its own communities but it also receives all the posts, comments and votes from external communities that are on other servers if someone from your server has subscribed to these external communities.
Mastodon is similar but there you follow people instead of communities. You still can follow Lemmy communities as if they were users to get all their posts and comments but it is clunky. You can post from Mastodon to a Lemmy community by mentioning it in a post with an @ in front. The first line of the post will be used as the title.

There’s a weed garden in Göttingen, Germany. They try to preserve “weeds” that have almost been eradicated. Though the last time I was there it looked pretty barren so I think it’s not doing so well.

When I learned playing as a kid I never got fast enough to play while I’m reading. I’d just play the song bit by bit until I had it memorised.
Maybe we’ll get GTA 6 before GTA 6.
