I can relate to this, and it’s not about corporates in my case. In my offline social network, there are certain topics or rants that I can’t tell because they won’t understand, or rants that I feel they’re equally helpless of. That’s why I often come back online, but no matter the platform, well, I’m just prone to addiction I guess and it’s hard to disengage because there’s no strict stopping cues.
With fediverse (especially about Mastodon), I also find it difficult to match my values to instances’ values (I tend to be centrist). It can feel like I’m a social outcast again, seeing all those people enjoying their existence online.
