I recommend watching it if you’ve got lots of time on your hands. Its “old white cancer guy goes tits and pwns the drug game”.

Its really good but its so long and sooooo slow.

I haven’t seen it mostly because it feels like it’s all about the failure of the USA health system.

That’s the background of it but the show really doesn’t touch on it any more that establishing it as a premise and motivation. Almost none of the show actually depicts his treatment or paying the bills.

Only at first. It quickly becomes clear that Walt (the main character) is driven by pride and ego. He gets addicted to the power. The whole point of the show was to see if the writers could break what people see as “bad”, by having a sympathetic character devolve into evil.

That’s the case only in the first few episodes. In

        Episode name and number

“Gray Matter” (season 1, episode 5)

Very minor spoiler for that episode

an old friend of Walter’s offers him a job, with excellent health insurance, at the company that they had cofounded but Walter was no longer a part of. However, Walter didn’t take the job offer because it was too small—Walter had already begun to travel in worlds his friend couldn’t even imagine.

It kind of is, but its like spiderman is all about being bitten by radioactive spiders. Its important to the concept and gets mentioned when necessary, but its largely irrelevant.

Its much more of a cultural power fantasy, the guys even called White, and outwits every established drug cartel he comes across until spoilers

Loses to the white supremacist neo nazi types.
