iCloud backup is encrypted if the option is chosen. It’s deactivated by default. The backup is linked to the signature of your devices, or a phrase you are only shown once when activating it. AFAIK it’s secure until now.

Why? Under the Patriot act they are forced to comply and then lie about it if asked if they did. I see no reason why anyone should trust them, or any other company that claims to protect your encryption while holding the keys for it.

They say themselves that they don’t have the key, and since there is no evidence that they do, I believe that.

Would you trust Google if they said so? And also why would there be evidence of government doing things behind your back. Wouldn’t that compromise national security? It only ever pops up when it doesn’t matter, so I guess it’s okay?

It’s not like Apple has a history to bowing down to authoritarians.

Welp, that all looks clean to me. Thank Tim Apple for the golden gift to the emperor. They’re totally not bending the knee or assisting surveillance to make the their stonks go up. They’re very principled.

They said so, and there’s literally no evidence against it. 😉😉

              They say themselves

That right there is the problem. This is unverifiable trust, should be avoided, basically “appeal to authority” fallacy, but hey sure trust a capitalist company in a emerging fascist controlled dictatorship to the speak the truth.
