I never replaced mine, all my battery budget went towards replacing the VMU’s.
I remember trying to charge the battery by leaving the console turned on for like 10 hours but it didnt work. Also gave up on replacing VMU batteries pretty quick so the “beeeeeeeeeep” is part of the charm now :\
