    This is an empty gesture, it’s not worth reporting as news without including the various caveats the reveal the truth of the matter:

    • He retains the title “Prince Andrew”
    • He retains the title “Duke of York” because it requires state action to strip him of it.
    • His children’s lineage will not be affected.
    • He states he is no longer “using” the title.

      True. I’m just reporting it as the pawn move on the chess board it is. The timing is very telling, and this certainly is one of those cases where it isn’t about what it is but about what it looks like.
