In other words, “the Ukraine war will never end as long as I’m in charge” - Zelensky

Then I’m afraid that it won’t end until the Ukrainians run out of manpower. It seems to me that the Russians have heavy artillery, working supply lines and patience. I’m saddened by stories reportedly from Ukranian soldiers lamenting their lack of equipment and effective defensive positions.

But do they have working supply lines? They don’t seem to do well with supply lines within hostile territory.

no one has totally secure supply lines in hostile territory, do you think if ukraine invaded crimea (which is 90% ethnic russian) that they wouldn’t have the same problem? Even then, Russia has systematically reduced the Ukrainian nationals in number, and slowly built incredibly dependable supply. Ukraine can barely even use the NATO aid it is given

Plenty of proud Ukrainians are ethnically Russian. Plenty of Russian nationals, ethnically Russian, do not support Putin

And I proudly call them all stupid for siding with fascists.

Plenty of Russian nationals, ethnically Russian, do not support Putin

I sure hope so, the leading opposition to putin is the Soviet Communist Party, and this war has increased their numbers drastically

I’m trying to get an understanding of as many sides of the conflict as possible, what makes you argue that Russia will run out of personel before Ukraine?

My understanding is that Russia’s decision to call this a “special military operation” limits the number of people they can drag in to the war. Calling it what it is and mobilizing people who have not signed up for the army would also risk unrest in the population when your average, non-Z-fanatic folk is dragged in to the battle.

Also, the expert opinions I’ve read have estimated that both sides will run out of people this year.

These are same experts who predicted that Russia will run out of equipment and ammunition any day now for four months straight?

For the most part, yes. Before Feb 24th, hey had estimated that the forces amassed around Ukraine would not be enough to take over Ukraine and thus did not think Russia would actually attack. They ended up being correct about the former, though Russia has since scaled down their ambitions dramatically and have had more success as a result. These are Finnish military experts which have focused on Russia specifically for decades.

Russia will win this war, and the outcome is not in question. There is no logical benefit for Ukraine to continue dragging it out. The end result will be that Ukraine will lose more territory and create a greater humanitarian crisis. This entire war could’ve been averted if Ukraine accepted being neutral and renounced NATO ambitions.

It’s not a sheer numbers game but also the fact that the Russian army is so useless and ineffective, that superior numbers can’t make up for the hopelessness and demoralization of being an incompetent soldier sent to die in a foreign land for the ambitions of one corrupt and incompetent ruler, in a war that you don’t really want to participate in. When one Ukrainian fighter equals ten or more Russian soldiers the odds aren’t exactly in Russia’s favor. Many have already deserted the battlefield and many more will.

If one Ukrainian soldier equals ten, then with the 1 million forces that Ukraine has with billions of dollars of weapons from NATO, Russia would need 10 million troops on the front just to hold them back.

Instead we see Russia making steady advances with only ~150k troops committed. Use some sense before you share your thoughts.

From what I understand, people in russia are noticing that no one is coming back or coming back without legs or arms or dead. Obviously the same in Ukraine. However russian soldiers don’t see their country unfairly attacked so they don’t have the drive to enlist other than the corrupt government forcing them in clearly evil ways like just going to your house and literally taking you. On the other hand, you got the Ukraninans who, on the very first days of the war would make and use Molotov cocktails. They see an asshole country destroying theirs and their way of life. So they got everything to lose. That’s why they come back. Plus men of fighting age are not allowed to leave. Most of the world see how russia’s asshole guy, little pipiputin is killing innocent people. As you might understand, most of the world has most of the people who live in the world, and they got something to lose. The world has their future to lose if russia starts WW3 or if they start using nukes. This is why russia is loosing soldiers and Ukraine keeps getting more and better trained ones.

At least that’s what I understand. It might be that the world wants to become a slave to cancer baldy pipiputin. There are people like that. Would you like to be a servant of a guy dying from cancer who is killing kids?
