Santa Fe stands out among the major cities.

They also have a law that forbids building past a certain height.

    They get my approval.

Oh, it’s time to get my Representatives on the Phone, bother them about this brand-new change that will make everyone’s lives better! It just sucks that I had to go to the city’s website because Abqjournal is blocking anyone who doesn’t disable ad-block (in this day and age, it’s non-negotiable).

What does this mean for tip workers and their minimum wage? Will it be 17.50 too?

If they’re making a living wage, I personally am no longer tipping.

The cost of this is/will be passed to the consumer, so that’s my rationalization.

Businesses already charge customers the most they’re willing and able to pay.

Tipping is a fucking bullshit scam derived from slavery. Nobody should rely on tips, all jobs should pay lovable wages.

      I will continue to dream…

Stupid Americans have this idea that tipping is necessary for good service.

They’re genuinely too brain-dead to comprehend firing people when they don’t do their job properly.

In all honesty, they’ve just been conditioned to be morons so people richer than them can be even richer.

That needs to be in the article and made clear, rather sloppy reporting actually. What about gig workers?

Because it’s a pretty normal detail to go unmentioned when discussing minimum wage. That detail has always been the case, at least as far as I’m aware.

This is actually the first time I’ve ever read an article about the minimum wage and it doesn’t discuss tipped wages.

Mind you, it’s also the first Santa Fe minimum wage news article I’ve ever seen.
