And the interviewer’s name?
Colin Robinson.
I feel like Colin Robinson could be a LinkedInLunatics rock star.
I’ve landed multiple jobs after which the people doing the hiring just kinda ignored me for a month and then decided to follow up as I was in the process of negotiating at a different location.
I also once got a letter in the mail saying they’d declined to pursue hiring me six months after I’d last heard from them.
A friend of mine, who landed a job as an AUSA during the shutdown before last, was left to dither for three months in the middle of the on-boarding process while the office he was hiring from had to fight to get all their finances back in order.
Hiring is a fucking joke.
I went to a company “recently” to test one of their products, intending to buy one if it worked. It didn’t work.
They made the mistake of leaving me alone with it for half an hour, during which time I fixed the product and provided them with a detailed set of instructions on how to get the product working, and a list of recommendations for improvements.
The company hired me a week later in a contractor position (I get paid for work done, not time spent). It’s been about 6 months so far and they haven’t given me any work yet, but they keep promising it will be any day now.
Details deliberately left vague for privacy.
Absolutely wild. It’s like the business exists to waste other people’s time.
I had this happen 6 MONTHs after I interviewed at a place. I was on my way into the job I actually got and had already been promoted when I got a call from the lady like “Hey, do you still want to work for ****?” Uh… no I’m good thanks.
My cousin got flown to England for a 4th round interview before they decided to ‘go a different direction’
They still paid for her airfare and comped just shy of weeks in one of their hotels though so she got a free vacation out of it.
Sounds like they really did go a different direction and compensated her pretty well for wasting her time.
Seems like a win-win to me…
Honestly I wouldn’t be overly upset. I mean, sucks she didn’t get it but at least it wasn’t all for naught
GHOSTED BY THE VAMPIRE
Nice one.
Probably a more realistic story too.
There was never actually an opening, they always planned to promote from within but had to make a listing for reasons… with the vampire
Scraping the data of and scamming desperate job applicants with the vampire
Ah. So that’s why that recruiter exploded into a bunch of bats.

“sir I’m sorry to say you have HPV … Sorry, VPV”
