In the Weimar Republic the street violence just played into the Nazi plan. Their allies in the media portrayed the left as violent thugs or the Nazis as rough and tumble patriots as suited the target demographics.

Which isn’t to say you shouldn’t punch Nazis. It’s just to say consider the value of a regular range day instead.
