      I mean if you consider the value of not being made by Meta and not having fucking ads plastered all over it, the value looks a lot closer.

      Yep. Meta heavily subsidizing the cost of their headset means that it’s phenomenal value for the cost. The Valve Index, now six years old, still sells for twice the price of the Meta Quest 3.

      Now, if we think in terms other than value per cost, the Steam Frame will come out on top. But for people who don’t really care about Meta’s bullshit, the Quest will be the more valuable option.

      Which is probably fine. There being a less expensive good entry point for VR is broadly a good thing as the technology is still finding its legs.
