Shits too expensive, these card manufacturers gotta take the hint.
As long as sales and profits remain high they have no incentive to bring prices down to a realistic and reasonable level.
If you’re a broke boy just say so.
Obvy you are a broke boy, because of your little penis syndrome.
cries into his 3090 and 7900XTX
I don’t give a piss what you have. Don’t make stupid fucking comments like that, and you won’t get stupid replies.
Like this one you mean? lol. Get a job.
Bragging about your 7900xtx, while putting everyone else down speaks volumes about your personality. Also I have been pretty lucky to achieve good success in my career, thank you.
Much like people constantly do nothing but complain about the price of luxury goods speaks volumes about their own personalities.
I’m legit just buying a console next time I’m due for a refresh. I did a X3D/4070ti refresh last Christmas, so I’m good for awhile, but that’s my last time if this market doesn’t straighten out. It’s hard to justify these video cards, when I can just plug in a PlayStation for hundreds less, not even mentioning all the other components you need. To each their own, but it’s largely the same experience if you aren’t extensively modding a game or whatever (which I never am).
What’s your full setup? I’ve been running a 5 year old mid-tier AMD CPU, 16gb DDR4, and a 2080 super for the past several years on 1440p ultra-wide. I can get 60Hz at max settings on most AAA titles, and stable 100+Hz on moderate-high settings.
I don’t plan on upgrading for a couple more years, and even then I’ll probably keep my CPU until the mobo or CPU dies, just upgrading the GPU. I’ve never felt compelled to upgrade any other components. Hell, my PSU and original SSD are both almost 10 years old (yes I know I need to switch those out shortly)
But yeah if you’re starting fresh, price to performance with consoles is always better. But it sounds like you’ve got set up already. I do totally agree with you on the GPU market, though. It’s been ridiculous for years, I keep hoping for the market to settle some
5800x3d, 64ddr4, 4070ti, I can get pretty good frame rates at 1440p on pretty much everything (unless it’s broken shit AAA releases that aren’t ready, but even then I’m usually well past 60 frames). I’m definitely good for awhile, but I’m just saying. Computer prices have been nuts for awhile, I don’t think they are coming back to planet earth anytime soon. I just don’t see the point, unless you are an uber-hobby modder or something like that. Which I’m definitely not. I’m a mid 40s angry dad who just wants to scream at clouds lol.
I totally get it. I think the whole Xbox vs PC vs PS thing has always been annoying. If you just want something simple and cost-effective that works well, you do you.
The only reason I won’t be doing this is the lack of mouse and keyboard support (for every available game I mean, not just a handful of them) otherwise I will be doing it.
Fair enough. Personally I play all my games with a controller or a wheel, so in my case it’s moot. Anything else can be handled by my laptop which I always have kicking around for work purposes. Actually if I’m being honest, if it’s not a game, I’m doing it on my phone 95% of the time.
Damn, that’s awesome. Did they fix the game speed tied to FPS? Things were going crazy when my game would hit 60+FPS.
Disclaimer: Having a hacked console means it can’t go online
i have no idea which game you were referring to but it seems unlikely
I’m talking about Pokémon Scarlett and Violet, the second link ya posted!
I run Yuzu rather than a hacked console, myself.
No fix, just the ability to run it in 60 fps
Steam Deck had been my go to gaming device for a while now, definitely worth it.
GPU makers should fuck off until they can get me 1440p+ 165hz VR.
Can Intel keep making tiny steps forward in performance and driver support? If so their Arc cards could be a really good bang for the buck.
What’s not to say they don’t get close, then just start pulling the same shit though? Intel’s not well known for their competitive pricing, after all.
True, but another competitive vendor can’t hurt. Maybe it drives team red and team greens prices down.
That would be nice, but Intel’s going straight to Nvidia prices once they have a competitive product. Based on their previous behavior, I’m not sure they are going to be the competitor you think they might be. They established the golden standard for computer industry anti-competitve behavior don’t forget.
There’s a shortage! Demand is high! It’s ok guys!
