When registering a country code domain, keep in mind where the domain is being registered. A shift in government or geopolitics can have serious consequences.

People, think about the implications of a TLD before choosing your domain. Look up the organization that controls it and their restrictions on using it. Basic-ass research.

Anything with “free speech” in its name looks really shady these days

i get it, but this is not a new brand.

its a solid, local team of linux geeks that wanted pay-per-use service. it shows in their interface, i love it.

ive been with them for over 15 years. i chose them because they were one of the first to outright say “we wont do shit without a court order”

or you could, ya know, trust the taliban. for some reason.

Normally I don’t really appreciate hosting suggestions as most of them are pretty similar, but this looks really interesting and I’ll definitely take a look at them.

This headlines been out there for a week or so and every time I see it, seems like the taliban is after the admins or something. But it’s just about domain name.

Hey weren’t we having a problem with .ml? Did that ever get sorted?

So, registering a new domain is too hard for them I guess as is relinking their instance under the new name
