Just for context, US currently produces 172,800 shells a year, while Russia was producing 733,260 back in 2021. And this six fold increase is going to take years to do. And shells aren’t the only problem here. US built howitzers can’t sustain the rate of fire needed to use such amounts of shells. So, it’s back to the drawing board for uncle Sam.
