And the president and I are working around the clock every day to get that ceasefire deal done and bring the hostages home. So, I respect your voices, but we are here to now talk about this race in 2024.

She handled that well, but she’s gotta know that line is going to start to sound a bit stale by November, right?

She and Biden either have to deliver some kind of progress on Gazs by mid-October (which I don’t see happening — not with Biden in charge), or she’s got to up the rhetoric on Gaza a little before the election.

Or she has to at least show that her policies aren’t identical to his. Because so far, she’s accused anti-genocide protesters of being Trump supporters.

Yeah, I am honestly impressed how she shut down the pro-Palestine supporters. Don’t get me wrong, I support Palestine, but people have a point that this single-issue agenda is short-sighted and will undo democracy-- not just in America but also across the world. Trump winning means Ukraine will get fewer support and Putin and other illiberal leaders will win.

I just hope though that Kamala is much more assertive against Netanyahu than Biden. I feel like behind the scenes, Biden kowtows to Bibi.

Hopefully everyone will be so happy about „saving democracy” nobody will notice that her signatures are going to authorize support for israel.

So where’s the daylight between her and Biden on this?

She’s far closer to the right side of history than Biden.

If he has his faculties and he’s doing this, this is a huge sin that will stain him throughout history.

If he doesn’t have his faculties, I’d rather he let more capable people make decisions.

So which of her policies regarding Israel differs from his?

Yeah, I hear that plenty about Biden.

Doing the right thing behind the scenes is the kind of action that lead to the Russian hostage exchange, the satisfaction of the rail worker unions after the railroad strike, the steady increase in student loan relief after SCOTUS shut down the blanket 10k handouts, and the duping of republicans into getting the chips act passed.

I personally believe in their capacity to do the right thing behind the scenes, just like I believe in the other side’s capacity to do the wrong thing behind the scenes.

People who are fine with genocide have no reason to distrust Biden, and no need to see actual daylight between him and Harris. He’s already doing everything centrists want in public.

And I asked which of her policies differs from Biden’s. Policies are publicly held. Not “Trust me bro it’s totally opposite day behind the scenes.”

I was addressing the comment “I hear that plenty about Biden” and pointing out that the Biden administration has taken action behind the scenes, at least on a number of other issues.

I also have reason to believe that whatever behind-the-scenes talks are happening concerning Israel are pro-preace, because otherwise the US would be throwing enough military weight behind Israel that Palestine would be finished by now.

All we know about Harris’s conversation with Netayahu is what Harris herself said to the press after the meeting, and she didn’t say anything different from what Biden has said.

And she wasn’t in the meeting where Biden met with Netanyahu.

So where’s the daylight between her and Biden on this?

I too would like to know this.

And if she doesn’t want to say what she would do differently from Biden, I would at least like to hear her say that she’s willing to do things differently from Biden.

I realized that what I meant as snark could be interpreted as agreement with the notion that Harris shares the same views on the situation as Biden.
