These things always remind me of the end of the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, where Rocket is trying to defend stealing from people “because I want it more”. That is so often how it sounds to me when people try to rationalize why we should withhold food, shelter, clothing, and vital medicine from people because they haven’t proven they are worthy of being kept alive.
