I haven’t heard of this one before. But the entire thing is an evil villains wet dream.

In addition to expanding government leaders’ abilities to hire and fire at will, Project 2025 calls for a new federal database to gather information on potential new hires. The database contains people’s answers to questions on social issues, such as abortion and immigration, allowing for department leaders to easily fill job vacancies with applicants who lean conservative.

John Oliver detailed all of this several months ago. It all seems terrifying, if they end up actually being to execute the strategy.

if they end up actually being to execute the strategy.

What could possibly stop them? With control of the house, senate, supreme court and white house, are there any checks against this sort of extremism? Genuinely asking.

Republicans are the only ones who will care about this database. Tell them whatever they want to hear, then Ron Swanson that cushy job hard.

Which means you have to be willing to do whatever they ask of you.

At which point it becomes more than just telling them what they want to hear, but doing what they want you to do. Which in the end isn’t any different than actually believing that crap and truly being loyal.

I’ve seen many people skate by doing very little in both the private and public sector. Think of the average person’s intelligence and realize the vast vast majority of them are employed.

    You mean Destroy-America.

The fact that the House and Senate are all Republican control, will make this a lot easier.

The majority of the ~40% of eligible voters that actually participated.

That fact always shocks me. People have an invaluable right and don’t use it.

          No, all of them.

In the words of Rush, “If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.”

The other 60% voted by staying home, knowing it was a de-facto vote for Trump.

Great point but I think not entirely correct. I’ve seen a bunch of interviews of people shockingly disengaged. Google even noted a spike on election day of questions about “did Biden drop out” - there’s a chunk of the population that just ignores politics and is utterly disinterested in voting.

            Why I’ll never know.

And they’ll be uninterested in trump leading them, but they’ll still complain when it affects them. They had the power to choose and ignored it, so the fault also falls onto them.

100%. People being disconnected don’t get a free pass. It’s an infinitesimally small number of americans who get to adulthood and actively participate in our society who don’t understand the very basic fundamentals of democracy and civics. Choosing not to take a side is still choosing a side whether they like it or not.

Sounds like it was the majority of Americans in this case, since 60% didn’t turn out.

And just from my anecdotal experience, people are fucking dumb and they continue to surprise me day after day with just how dumb they can be.
