Amid a series of changes that allows users to target LGBTQ+ people, Meta has deleted product features it initially championed.

    So as far as sensible personal practice vs Meta:

    • We can do our social media elsewhere, like we are here on Beehaw ✅

    • We can stop doing biz on Meta platforms and delete accounts ✅

    • Avoid Meta products like Quest VR (extremely easy bc trash) ✅

    • Avoid using Meta code (React) in our projects ✅

    Any other good ideas I am missing?

    *edit PS: A helpful thing for me to realize was that the people in my life who advocate the hardest for staying on Meta products are also the people who tacitly support all the horrible behavior of corpos and politicians. It is two sides of the same behavior.

      No war but class war. They will find excuses to protect their own, regardless of “ideology.”

      And any lgbtq+ billionaires will side with their rich friends because identity politics doesn’t exist for their kind.
