Biden is a hubristic asshole and trump is his legacy. That said, he’s a better person than both trump and bush.

      trump is his legacy

Trump is also the legacy of everyone who argued that Biden “had to be the nominee”, here, there and everywhere. Trump is the legacy of everyone who permitted Harris to go uncriticized for her DEEPLY unpopular stances on literally every policy position, because “being critical of her would help Trump”.

This election did not need go the way it did.

Centrists spent all their time “slamming” progressives and then lost to republicans that they barely put up a fight against and basically tried to immitate. But somehow they still think that its all the dirty progressives fault that they lost. They didnt lose to progressives. Progressives lost to them, and centrists lost to republicans. Thats Joe Bidens legacy. Its the pattern of his whole career.

        He didn’t.

All it takes is a look at presidential approval ratings.

        GWB: L25 H90

        Trump: L34 H49

        Biden: L36 H57

        Clinton: L37 H73

        Obama: L38 H69

It’s pretty clear Trump has the lowest margin of approval ratings at 15 points difference to Biden’s 21. However, Dubya has the honor of lowest approval rating amongst living presidents.

These people are trying to rewrite history.

Great point. The Gallup poll was performed shortly after Trump’s inauguration as well. Bias may have been the point.

"Now, in the past, President Bush has said it’s impossible to pass judgment on his presidency while he’s still alive. So maybe this is a little bit premature. But even now, there are certain things that we know for certain.

We know about the son who was raised by two strong, loving parents in Midland, famously inheriting, as he says, ‘my daddy’s eyes and my mother’s mouth.’ (Laughter.) The young boy who once came home after a trip to a museum and proudly presented his horrified mother with a small dinosaur tailbone he had smuggled home in his pocket. (Laughter.) I’ll bet that went over great with Barbara.

We know about the young man who met the love of his life at a dinner party, ditching his plans to go to bed early and instead talking with the brilliant and charming Laura Welch late into the night.

We know about the father who raised two remarkable, caring, beautiful daughters, even after they tried to discourage him from running for president, saying, ‘Dad, you’re not as cool as you think you are.’ (Laughter.) Mr. President, I can relate. (Laughter.) And now we see President Bush the grandfather, just beginning to spoil his brand-new granddaughter."

War criminal who should be hung to death at The Hague? Nope; funny old well meaning caring family man who does lovely paintings.

Yeah, but half of the country has abused spouse syndrome with trump. While the nicest things most progressive people have to say about Biden is that he wasn’t Trump.

But his political base likes him. Biden was hated by republicans, and anyone that didn’t want to commit genocide.

This is basically why Democratic politicians are less popular than Republican ones. A Republican president will be liked by 90%+ of his party and nearly no Democrats. A Democratic president is liked by half of his party and called a genocide supporter by the other half, and supported by nearly no Republicans.

To everyone who insisted that Biden “had to be the nominee” in the 8 months of campaigning we had prior to him stepping down: Trump is a result of your actions.
