What if they have always been wanting to marry but both too afraid to ask and you broke the ice and they marry and live together happily ever after?

That’s why you gotta go back in a few years and spell out “I want a divorce”

If I don’t get to be happy neither do they

This is one of many reasons proposals should be talked about in advance. If you like surprises your partner doesn’t need to know exactly when the proposal is coming, but generally it should be known if a proposal is coming in the more immediate future, in the long term, or not at all.

But that’s also a target demographic here. Let’s say you talk with your partner and a proposal is coming in some near term future.

You go away for a weekend to the beach, but are not planning to propose–youre going to do that at the park where you first met or whatever.

SO sees this, gets excited, then get let down and isn’t ever in the same great spirits the rest of the day/weekend.

      Still a chaos inducing opportunity

Still new and getting used to community links on lemmy, but it tickles me that this reads like “Hey! I found Satan at lemmy world”

She’s trying to be funny, but deep down she’s doing this because she’s jealous it’s not happened to her yet.
