Main suggestions: pick a distro on your priorities (starting with arch is a meme for a reason, most people just want a computer that just does what they want easily, Linux can do that nowadays and you’ll have the freedom to mess around with terminal if you want) and keep in mind you may need to do some things a little differently like using a different program, but unless you’re using cad it’s unlikely to be an issue
